WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As part of our North America Sports Marketing Leadership team, the Senior Director of Men's Sports Marketing will drive the overall Men's strategic priorities across North America Sports Marketing through crafting the portfolio, elevating athlete & team services and leading the athlete leverage strategy! You will work in partnership with the North America Men's Leadership team as well as the NA Sports Marketing sport dimension leads to ensure that the North America Men's portfolio is crafted to support the needs of the Business and the Brand in North America. You will supervise ongoing marketing processes and business results, tailoring strategic shifts based on consumer behavior and any evolution of the overall North America women's business strategy. Additionally, you'll drive the overall brand experience offense by aligning vision and strategy to help push Men's as a growth driver, improving and modernizing our contractual rights to strengthen our connection with consumers and fuel business growth.
You must be a leader, have a people-first approach, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; lead and/or operate in ambiguous environment all while driving clarity for your teams and partners.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will lead and partner with a diverse and experienced team across key business functions and Sports Marketing sport dimension teams to craft the future of Men's Sports Marketing for North America. Your strategy will help inform invest/divest decisions within our Men's portfolio of athletes, teams and leagues. You'll collaborate with cross-functional brand and business partners to ensure that we get maximum value from our athlete and team relationships. Additionally, you will oversee the Nike Canada sports marketing portfolio.
You will craft and deliver a strategic vision for strengthening and modernizing Nike's positioning across the Men's portfolio, you will ensure Nike has the right athletes and teams, working in collaboration with business, brand and Key City leaders. You and your team will develop tiered athlete plans for our North American athletes that align with the brand management, product and comms teams. In addition to mapping athletes to key seasonal strategies and business initiatives, you will align North American athletes against Nike's purpose offense. You will also be responsible for owning the integration and leverage strategy and ensuring the services and experiences we build for our athletes, both on and off the field of play, is elevated, personal and well-rounded.
- Your strategy will inform all invest/divest decisions across North America Sports Marketing for the Men's portfolio.
- You'll partner closely with cross-functional brand and business partners in North America to ensure that Nike gets maximum value from our athlete and team partnerships in all sports, but specifically including basketball, soccer, football and baseball.
- Ensure our men's athletes are aligned against Nike's Purpose Offense, specifically around sustainability, community, diversity and equality.
- Oversee budgets focused on elevating services and experiences for our leading men's athletes in North America and all of our Canadian sports marketing portfolio.
- Lead with collaboration, a growth attitude, be data driven and remain passionate about key priorities.
You will report to the VP, NA Sports Marketing and act as a member of the NA Sports Marketing Leadership Team. Additionally you'll partner closely with the VP of Global Men's Sports Marketing as well as lead a team consisting of the Director of Canada Sports Marketing as well as the Director of Men's Brand Experience and the team under them. You'll partner closely with each of the Sports Marketing Sport dn leads. You will also work closely with the Global Athlete Experience Team and key members of the NSRL on a by project basis. The VP/GM of Men's in NA, VP of NA Men's Brand Marketing, Catalyst Brand Marketing, Athlete Business Development, and Product Merchandising leaders will be key partners to ensure Sports Marketing efforts are in service of brand and business objectives.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training
- 10+ years of experience in Sports Marketing, Brand Marketing, or closely related field
- Proven ability to lead, develop, engage and create large impactful diverse teams
- Proven ability to embrace ambiguity and change, helping the team adapt and remain productive
- Passion and interest around basketball, football, baseball, soccer and running
- Portfolio management and critical thinking across multiple sport dimensions
- Partnership management; ability to develop and capitalise from internal and external partnerships
- Passion about building the integration between Sports Marketing & the Consumer Construct
- Business and financial savvy to build strategies & drive financial plans
- Analytical and digital approach to create and track against critical metrics
- Enterprise thinking and end to end business knowledge
- Capability to drive interpersonal alignment at all levels of the organization
