About the Role:
Bond Vet is building the next generation of veterinary clinics from the ground up — and we’re looking for a motivated Senior Director of Accounting to join our team.
The Senior Director of Accounting will help lead the accounting, controlling, and compliance operations at Bond Vet, ensuring timely and accurate period-end closing reporting of the company's financial results, in accordance with US GAAP reporting standards. The Senior Director of Accounting will partner closely with the FP&A team for alignment on process flow treatment between Actuals and Budget assumptions, as well as maintain strong reporting standards.The role is based in New York City at our Chelsea HQ.
What You’ll Do:- Responsible for all the accounting, controlling, and compliance operations of the company, ensuring a consistently timely and accurate period-end closing reporting of the company's financial results, in accordance US GAAP reporting standards
- Oversee the functions of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting
- Monthly/Quarterly Close: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of account reconciliations, analysis and presentation of the monthly consolidated financial close
- Manage and implement technical accounting and tax pronouncements and stay current and adopt all new technical accounting pronouncements
- Policies, Procedures and Internal Controls: Work with the team to develop and implement accounting policies and procedures as required with a focus on driving efficiencies through effective and efficient use of our accounting systems
- Financial Management: Work closely with FP&A to manage the financial results of the business
- Provide oversight and support for the management of department level operating expenses
- Audit: Manage annual audit process including the preparation of support, Financial Statements and interactions with the external audit firm
- Other: Assist the management team on the preparation of Board packages, special projects and documentation/automation of processes
- CPA designation and Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
- 10+ years' of relevant experience in finance-related roles with public accounting, previous Controller or Accounting Manager experience (minimum of three years in a supervisory role)
- Must have experience leading accounting optimization for a high-growth start-up or scale-up environmentÂ
- Industry experience in healthcare, retail, restaurants or consumer products strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting
- Proficiency in Excel and NetSuite required
- Exceptional work ethic, team mentality, positive attitude, highly-driven, self-motivated, and excellent business partnering skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to participate and facilitate group meetings
- Maintain the highest standards of accuracy and precision; detail-oriented, highly-organized and resourceful
