The Senior Director of Corporate Development will report to the VP of Corporate Development. The corporate development team supports the growth of the company through acquisitions and strategic partnerships and acts as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team. This position will understand market dynamics and help drive strategic decision making while ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy.
*This is a hybrid role based in our Atlanta HQ office.
What you’ll do:
- Lay out our core competitors as well as those in areas tangent to our specific category within DFS that could be potential partners, acquisition targets, investors, etc. (ie. Media, Esports, Skill-based gaming operators / developers, etc.)
- Execute all due diligence related activities and help identify opportunities for growth and expansion through strategic partnerships or by acquiring complementary businesses.
- Identify, evaluate, and establish partnerships and alliances with other companies or
- organizations (ranging from JVs to licensing agreements, strategic alliances, or other partnerships with the goal of leveraging synergies, accessing new markets or enhancing the company’s capabilities.
- Monitor the competitive landscape, analyzing competitors' strategies, identify emerging
- threats, and evaluate market trends. This helps the company stay ahead by adapting its
- strategy and identifying potential partnerships or acquisitions. Includes reviewing and reporting on publicly traded company filings.
- Develop and maintain industry relationships including investment bankers, partners, operators and other key industry players to stay ahead of market intel.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the company's overall strategic plan.
- Assess market trends, competitive landscape, and industry dynamics to identify potential areas for growth and help define the company's long-term objectives.
- Work with comms team on investor relations related communications (quarterly updates, respond to inbound inquiries, tax-related communications, etc.)
What you have:
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to exercise mature judgment and present and execute solutions
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Team player that can also work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to be in a high growth situation that can be less structured at times
- 7+ years of related experience with time in top tier investment bank
- Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting or related field
What makes you stand out:
- DFS and/or sports industry related experience
- CFA, MBA, CPA or other relevant financial licenses or accreditations
Where you’ll live:
- Anywhere in the US, Atlanta preferred, travel up to 25% of the time.
