Bloomreach is solving one of the digital world’s most fundamental problems: helping people instantly find what they need when they need it. We are seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to spearhead our Product Innovation team in our Bangalore office. This role is responsible for our Indian Engineering team for our core search product, and is pivotal in guiding the development of our high-scale, distributed data processing platform, our customer-facing API gateway, our recommendation team, and the entire QA organization. These teams play a critical role in enhancing the digital presence and performance of hundreds of our e-commerce clients.
What you’ll do:
Empowering Engineering Excellence:
● Lead and mentor: Spreadhead the growth and development of the engineering teams and leaders. Foster continuous learning and skill development to upskill team members and meet evolving business demands.
● Quality at core: Drive the delivery of high-quality product releases within tight deadlines. Champion both efficiency and effectiveness throughout the development process.
● Innovation as DNA: Cultivate a culture of engineering excellence with modern technology like Generative AI. Lead by example, encourage best practices, and champion innovation to stay ahead in the tech landscape.
Building Bridges and Shaping Strategies:
● Collaboration maestro: Bridge the gap between engineering and other product teams across geographies. Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration to align strategies and goals.
● Partnership for impact: Work in tandem with Product Management and Business stakeholders. Drive the engineering agenda, setting and prioritizing goals that contribute to broader business objectives.
Technical Expertise, Practical Solutions:
● System architecture: Leverage your technical expertise to understand our product and platform, high comfort with technical complexity and ambiguity, and an interest to pioneer
● Problem solvers: Dive into the day-to-day engineering challenges, and identify the crux of bottlenecks that impact product quality, deliverability, and productivity. Help design and build advanced processes and solutions. Play a role in the successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
● Aligned with vision: Maintain close collaboration with Architects and cross-functional teams. Ensure engineering decisions and implementations are in sync with the overall architectural vision.

● Team builder: Articulate strategic product vision, and participate in hiring to build a diverse and high-performing engineering team. Foster an agile environment that nurtures collaboration and empowers teams to tackle the challenges of developing cutting-edge products.

● Empower the Team: Build strong rapport with team members and engineering leaders in the organization, providing effective guidance on career growth, improvement areas, and development opportunities.
