Senior Director of Engineering, Evolutions

As the engineering leader for Dropbox Evolutions you will be responsible for the technical execution and scaling of several new Dropbox products including Capture, Replay, Shop, Passwords and others.  For Dropbox, these new products represent wholly new, innovative and exciting opportunities to massively grow Dropbox’s business.  For our customers, they’re essential tools to unlock their ability to create, collaborate on and deliver their work in innovative ways.

Successful leaders in this role deeply understand the unique challenges of early-stage product development and how to scale them to many millions of customers.  They rapidly make build vs buy, single-use vs multi-use, and short-term vs long-term decisions.  They have strong business and product acumen, are data and metrics oriented, and drive solid execution across a set of full-stack engineering teams.  They lead with conviction and thoughtful decisiveness, partnering with their cross-functional teammates in Product, Design, Marketing and others.

• Leading multiple product initiatives to wide public launch, broad customer adoption and fast growth
• Set technical direction, partnering with Product and Design, on build vs buy vs partner, short vs long term solutions, single-use vs platform development
• Easily navigate cross-company partnerships and expectations using clear, influential and impact-driven leadership
• Foster a healthy, collaborative and inclusive culture that embodies Dropbox's values and continue to develop Dropbox as one of the best places to work

• 10+ years of engineering experience in a medium or larger software company including 5+ years managing high performing product development teams
• Experience leading engineering organizations to deliver and scale successful new products
• Demonstrated ability to hire and grow senior leaders and managers
• Experience creating strong technical leadership within the organization, fostering strong technical craft mastery and engineering discipline
• Deep organization capabilities, especially in influence, collaboration and communication with a global multi-site engineering, product and design organizational structure

For candidates hired in Colorado, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is $234,600 - $276,000 - $317,400.

This salary/OTE range represents the low, middle, and high end of the salary or OTE (Sales roles) range for this position, and is subject to change. To determine a Dropboxer’s starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. This position may be considered a promotional opportunity. 

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
