Job Description

The Senior Director of Corp Insurance & Risk Management is responsible for managing all aspects of the technical and operational insurance activities for Daniel J. Edelman Holdings, Inc. and its family of companies (“DJEH”). The individual is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the insurance program and the various lines of insurance DJEH has including handling claims, renewal of policies, and management of key insurer/broker relationships. This individual will also manage the technical and operational insurance activities and claims management for worker's compensation and other property & casualty insured claims and work with and support stakeholders across the global enterprise.

 

Insurance Broker & Claims Management: Monitor and direct services provided by insurance brokers. Manage the company's third-party claims administrator. Assist all operating companies with any insured claims.

 

Contractual review: Assist legal/operational contacts to review, revise, and provide feedback on insurance language for contracts ranging from leases to master service agreements. Coordinate with brokers and business units to obtain necessary certificates of insurance.

 

Insurance placement: Negotiate with brokers to ensure appropriate insurance is in place. Liaise with the Global CFO on global programs, insurance structure, and annual reviews of insurance coverage and budgets by identifying and measuring possible exposures. Key to this will be developing an understanding of business activities, analyzing related loss exposures, and assessing potential impact on the organization.

 

Mergers/acquisitions/divestment resource: Serve as main point of contact for risk management/insurance-related due diligence.

 

Strategic advisor: Advise on a variety of events that the enterprise hosts for its clients.

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of corporate Insurance Management, Insurance Broker experience or similar. 
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting or similar preferred 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A solid understanding of the structures of multinational-controlled master insurance programs.
  • Knowledge of claims-made insurance exposures and structures.
  • 10 years experience managing insurance contracts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot, and a self-starter
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced constantly evolving environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project) and business management software
  • This is a hybrid work environment so the individual will need to be in the office 3 days a week.
