Senior Director of Produce

Misfits Market is looking for a passionate produce professional to lead our Produce Category Management team. The Senior Director of Produce Category Management will be responsible for our produce assortment and sourcing strategies and managing our farm and supplier relationships. This person will also lead our efforts to reduce food waste by identifying and sourcing quality fruits and vegetables that would otherwise have gone to waste or a lesser outcome. Other responsibilities include produce merchandising, pricing, quality and logistics optimization. 

You will:

• Lead a team of Produce Category Managers in all aspects of produce procurement
• Use commodity & industry knowledge further optimize our strategy for sourcing across our fresh produce category
• Develop and foster positive working relationships with our grower partners, providing direction in the development of strategic plans aligned with the company's mission
• Identify and execute cost saving strategies that meet pricing and margin targets
• Coordinate closely with our logistics team on optimizing inbound freight and sourcing strategy 
• Collaborate with Operations, Logistics, Merchandising, Product, and Quality teams to execute on our category goals and further develop our internal tools & processes

You are:

• 7+ years of Produce industry experience
• A proven leader with a track record of building and leading successful teams
• Passionate about reducing food waste and building a sustainable future for our food systems
• An excellent written and verbal communicator
• A data-driven decision maker
• Adaptable, solutions focused and willing to challenge the status quo
