Senior Director of Product Design (Head of Design Team)

LeagueApps is looking for an experienced, inspiring Senior Director of Product Design to lead our growing design team and craft exceptional experiences for youth sports. 

Reporting to LeagueApps Sr. VP of Product, you will lead Product Design and all of its outcomes. This includes managing and mentoring our talented product design team, shaping the strategic direction of our user experience, overseeing the delivery of designs for our  roadmap, maturing our design processes, and growing our design organization as the business scales. Our products include our leading youth sports management platform for sports organizers, and our web and mobile app products for parents, coaches, and players.

• Oversee and guide the design team's efforts across all products, partnering closely with product management and other functional counterparts to ensure great results.
• Drive connectivity across teams, ensuring a unified, holistic approach to the design of our product experiences.
• Proactively identify UX and usability problems and opportunities and consistently and strategically guide teams to deliver experiences that create business value. 
• Think holistically about problems and product goals, considering solutions from the standpoint of the entire system across product components.
• Establish appropriate systems and processes to enable teams to consistently ship with high quality experiences and velocity as we scale.
• Create and champion design OKRs to focus and rally the team.
• Cultivate a highly collaborative, research and customer-centric culture.
• Foster the team's growth through development planning, performance management, collaborative work, and real-time design feedback and coaching.
• Recruit and support the onboarding of new designers as the business grows.
• Lead the establishment and maintenance of the company-wide design system.

• 10+ years of relevant experience designing digital products that have been released into the market, with a focus on SaaS webapps and mobile.
• Strong product thinker with a strong eye for great UI and UI.
• Ideally a mix of B2B, B2B2C, and B2C experience.
• 3+ years leading a design team, ideally across multiple products.
• Proven track-record of helping others develop their craft in research, interaction design, and visual design.
• A compelling portfolio that demonstrates experience building design teams, managing design processes, leading design projects, crafting design systems, working through complex user flows, and shipping products that are functional, intuitive, and visually compelling.
• Thrives on collaboration with other teams to accomplish shared goals that address real user needs.
• Strong leadership and social skills.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills as well as a proven ability to develop well-reasoned documents and presentations.
• Knowledge of and experience with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Suite, Miro.
