As the Senior Director, Operations, you will provide leadership for our freight forwarding products, act as the functional lead for strategic development within the overall market and enhance and grow new business opportunities with established customers. What you'll do on a typical day:

• Support Director/Manager level employees at multiple sites with daily operational activities

• Meet or exceed established business and profit growth targets; remain accountable for product P&L at the business unit level.
• Assist senior leadership with critical matters related to the business
• Establish and ensure operational implementation and compliance with processes and procedures for handling the freight product
• Maintain strategic relationships with appropriate vendors, including pricing and service standards; coordinate with the vendor base to ensure strategic compliance with XPO goals and objectives
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Support sales in developing new customers in the market and onboarding those customers to operations
• Assist in the development and implementation of new product and service offerings to meet customer needs in alignment with their goals and objectives
• Manage a team, focusing on specific growth opportunities and trends to leverage industry benchmarks and provide year-over-year improvement of KPI measurements

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

• 7 years of experience in operations for a carrier, freight forwarder/NVO and/or consolidator/Third-Party Logistics (3PL) organization

It'd be great if you also have:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Logistics
• Availability to occasionally travel between branches, regions and corporate headquarters
• 10 years of progressive transportation management experience
