RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with the Industrial Chief Supply Chain Officer to determine efficiency goals and opportunities for waste elimination, equipment improvement, manufacturing efficiency and cost reduction within the factory locations and distribution centers (DC).
- Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
- Collaborate with Continuous improvement Manager in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and develop a continuous improvement mindset/culture across the organization by leading site level studies in cost management techniques for productivity enhancement and operational process improvement.
- Develop KPIs and manage major projects to drive improvement in process metrics to achieve company cost reduction goals. Delivers progress and production reports to leadership team members as needed.
- Provides direct leadership, mentors, and develops Plant Managers and DC Managers.
- Identifies and shares training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
- Organizes departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
- Participates in the recruitment, hiring, and training of operations leaders and conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Lead the CAPEX implementation and ROI reporting across (JSS) North America's Smart Storage Solutions sites through identification, proposal, execution, and measurement of projects in support of Stanley Black and Decker's strategy.
- Devise and implement measurement tool for monitoring performance with respect to the business goals.
- Ensure optimization of available resources through capacity planning and continuous improvement to maximize productivity.
- Drive best in class manufacturing capabilities which will focus on gaining efficiencies through optimizing product production at multiple plants, optimizing process flow, automation, overhead absorption, continuous improvement and instilling best practices.
- Produce written reports, prepare presentations and supporting materials, that can be cascaded though spans and layers of the organization. Program updates will need to reach a wide-ranging audience from factory workers though to BOD's.
- Partner with Business Unit leaders and external resources to accommodate all interdependencies and business dynamics.
- Work with project managers in the development of financial and budgetary plans
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Management, Business, Engineering or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years' prior experience successfully managing a variety of departments including some combination OPEX, CAPEX, Procurement, Project Management, Quality, Safety, and Maintenance
- Experience leading operations in a decentralized, multi-site manufacturing organization
- Prior experience in capital expenditure management, capital approval processes, and installations
- Ability to think strategically with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven presentation skills and ability to interact successfully with multiple levels of the organization
- Ability to travel domestically (30% minimum).
Skills & QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSc/BA diploma in management or a relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus.
- Possess strong project management experience with large and complex projects.
- Possess a broad knowledge of project and program management methodologies.
- Able to understand the wider objectives of the program, such as business and strategic goals.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills with appropriate experience
- Strong knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
- Experience of large complex business operations with a global footprint
- Strong verbal and written communication for presentations and proposal writing
- Adaptability in fast-paced environments
- Detail orientation coupled with big-picture thinking
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, travel % may vary based on business needs and will include international travel.
