This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Director, People and Culture in United States.

This role provides strategic and operational leadership for global human resources, people systems, and organizational development initiatives. The Senior Director will advance a high-performing and engaged workforce across projects, regions, and functions while ensuring compliance, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational values. Acting as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, this position influences workforce strategy, talent development, and culture-building initiatives. The role balances strategic oversight with hands-on execution, directly managing the People & Culture team while supporting HR operations, employee relations, and performance management. Success requires a collaborative, proactive, and culturally attuned leader capable of navigating complex, multi-location, and donor-funded environments.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of global HR systems, policies, and practices across multiple projects and regions.
  • Oversee HR operations, including onboarding, development, promotions, training, separations, and personnel records management.
  • Provide strategic guidance to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational change, culture development, and performance management.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the People & Culture team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, donor requirements, and government contracting regulations across all operating regions.
  • Manage compensation, benefits, HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and other people-related platforms to ensure accuracy, data integrity, and reporting excellence.
  • Support employee engagement, talent acquisition, and succession planning initiatives to build sustainable organizational capacity.

  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
    • Experience in global, multi-location HR management, preferably in donor-funded, international development, or U.S. Government-funded projects.
    • Expertise in employee relations, performance management, compensation, learning and development, and organizational development.
    • Proven ability to advise senior leaders, influence decisions, and build strong relationships across teams and regions.
    • Strong understanding of compliance, employment law, and HR best practices in diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
    • Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and conflict management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with English fluency required.
    • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
