Senior Director Pre-Construction & Planning - Solar

Position Description

Origis Energy is looking for a Senior Director of Pre-Construction & Planning to join our diverse and growing team. The ideal candidate, will be part of the EPC Team focused on the successful transition of projects from the early stage development to EPC contract execution. Additionally, the individual will lead all early stage estimating, cost forecasting and planning.

The position of Senior Director of Pre-Construction & Planning is a regular, full-time position, and is eligible for our generous employee benefits package, including employer paid health insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions, and other great benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Project Development to understand real estate, legal, environmental, permitting and interconnection issues.
• Maintain overall EPC portfolio/pipeline timing in coordination with development status.
• Coordinate with Engineering on solar and energy storage plant design to optimize energy production vs constructability and cost considerations and site conditions.
• Manage overall EPC strategy/approach in close coordination with VP of Contracts.
• Guide the project teams in EPC negotiations to achieve the forecasted cost and schedule targets.
• Coordinate closely with project teams to facilitate EPC selection and final EPC contract execution.
• Identify key resource needs, risks, and mitigation strategies during preconstruction phase.
• Track compliance with cost and schedule milestones and other deliverables during the final EPC contracting phase.
• Support Business Development and Finance in EPC cost estimating/forecasting.
• Evaluate and stay coordinated and current with Supply Chain team on the best-in-class offerings from major equipment suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical or business field preferred
• 10+ years experience in project planning, forecasting and estimation, and pre-construction development
• Utility scale solar and BESS project experience required
• Development experience highly preferred
