Your Mission as the Senior Director, Product Engineering is to build Energage’s B2B Saas product suite to dominate the employer recognition marketplace. Mission includes technology strategy, design, planning, building and support of customer needs. The Senior Director of Engineering will direct the people, delivery processes and technologies.
Accountability & Impact of Role:
In this role, you will…
- Hire, lead and elevate a fully functioning product engineering capability working in a high-integrated Agile Scrum in partnership with product managers, experience designers, People and Data Scientists
- Develop and scale teams of full-stack engineering disciplines, supporting among other things, Team Leader’s and Team Member’s ability to focus, capability to work independently as well as their professional growth
- Maintain a competitive edge against competitor products, emerging technologies as well as related industry trends
- Leading product-led technology initiatives with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product Go-To-Market, Customer Success, etc.)
- Partner with peer technology organizations (Business Engineering, Information Security/IT) to achieve and advance unified infrastructures, architectures and operations supporting Energage’s “business as a platform”
- Ensure the creation, life-cycle management and support of effective product engineering architectures, infrastructures and applications
- Develop goals, objectives, and actions plans for Team Leaders and Team Members
- Ensure engineered solutions measurably comply with expectations for reliability, performance, quality, security and transparency
- Working effectively and efficiently within a product delivery process currently oriented around 2 week Agile Sprints and continuous deployment
What You Bring to the Role:
- Minimum 9 years of Saas software development experience
- Minimum 5 years people management experience
- Experience leading globally distributed Agile teams
- B.S or M.S.
- Passionate about technology as well as continual learning and personal development
- Hands-on cloud-native architectures, engineering enterprise applications on a public cloud (Azure, AWS, etc)_
- Expertise across Microsoft technology development stack
- Commitment to a “you build it, you own it” software development model, that good software development includes good testing, resiliency, monitoring, documentation, and collaboration
- Possess excellent reasoning, communication skills including the ability to make a strong case for technology choices
- Experience working closely with Product Management, Experience Design partners as well as senior business leadership while championing world-class engineering at every step of the delivery process
