BlackBerry AtHoc - Senior Director, Product Management

We are seeking an intellectually curious product leader with high degree of personal ownership and accountability to join our BlackBerry AtHoc growing product management team. We build life-saving Critical Event Management solutions for Federal Governments, state local governments, and highly regulated enterprises.

Guide the future of BlackBerry AtHoc product features and play a critical role in shaping the emergency management and crisis response product strategy for the next 10 years!

The candidate will have a proven track record of building mission-critical services, shipping product to market, and iterating on the platform to improve the value delivery. You will be responsible for product ideation and execution of the next generation of our crisis communication, emergency planning, incident management Platform/Services and API, to provide emergency and crisis managers robust and flexible services that help them plan and manage fast-moving crisis to minimize the business impact and protect people.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Research and distill the impactful business problems from customers, and internal stakeholders
  • Define product goals, set priorities, and metrics to drive business objectives
  • Develop and drive the BlackBerry AtHoc product roadmap, driving critical capabilities from concept to customer
  • Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution
  • Ensure the product vision is understood across the organization
  • Integrate usability studies, research, and market analysis into product development process to increase the adoption
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products
  • Understand strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized best in the industry
  • Build relationships and work closely with key partners in building a resilient emergency communication system
  • Lead Product Marketing Managers to assess product mix and marketing strategy
  • Feel comfortable participating and mentoring product managers and owners in translating product strategy into user stories, and prototypes
  • Work with all stakeholders appropriate to our area to understand problems, desired outcomes, and craft a solution
  • Engage with customers and partners to deliver roadmap updates, get product feedback, and identify additional challenges and opportunities
  • Represent BlackBerry AtHoc as a domain and product expert at customer interactions
  • Mentor and foster professional growth of the PM team

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 10 years minimum of related product management experience and as a product leader
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in defining the product vision and then implementing that vision into actionable roadmap
  • Ability to craft go-to-market campaigns and strategies in collaboration with marketing
  • Understanding of good User Experience and Design
  • Customer-centric mindset with the capability of translating that into the product development process
  • Uncover new revenue opportunities and develop strategies to increase the market presence
  • Fast learner that can quickly synthesize ideas, information, and options into a strategy, plan, or response and effectively communicate it
  • Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent team player able to work with virtual and global cross functional teams
  • Knowledge and/or experience of EMNS and CEM market is a major plus
  • BS Degree or 3 years minimum as a Software Engineer, MBA is plus, but not required
