Senior Director, Product Marketing (Pricing) - (M7)
Job Description
Provides leadership and direction through senior managers. Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple regions or diverse job families or departments within a major region or business unit. Develops and executes business unit, department or sub-functional strategy to achieve key business objectives. Decisions are guided by company and segment/functional strategy and objectives. Directs and controls the activities of one or more functional areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and direction of the Service organization's Pricing function, which includes four functional areas: pricing architecture, service pricing, spares pricing and account based pricing.
- Defines and directs the organization's pricing strategy to include all of Applied Materials' service, spares, consulting products and product platforms, to build and protect a leadership position in market share while enhancing profit margins and developing marketing tools for functional successful product introductions.
- Drives our pricing system requirements based on the latest learnings of pricing organizations globally, both in our industry and beyond.
- Directs through senior managers and a global team to ensure the overall pricing function is effectively meeting the organization's strategic goals, and the team to use pricing to drive competitive advantage, revenue and market share, to specific product, account and global targets.
- Works effectively with strategic marketing, business development, business operations, service business units, operations and components engineering and sales to optimize our pricing methodology and simplify systems and processes.
- Recommends to GM how to most effectively deploy resources to achieve business goals for global pricing, including making system recommendations to support and simplify the sales and customer experience.
- Conducts market and academic research on pricing methodologies to understand competitive activity and best known methods. Ensures that the team is professionally qualified as pricing professionals. The successful candidate will either have or is expected to obtain professional pricing certification.

- Demonstrates broad and comprehensive understanding of different IT and pricing systems, theories and practices as well as the changing business environment
Business Expertise
- Applies in-depth knowledge of own segment/function, business and commercial expertise to differentiate itself from the competition. Field experience as Sales or Business Development/Management considered an advantage or alternatively experience in pricing functions in industry or academia preferred.
Leadership
- Leads a department through multiple levels of managers of diverse activities; develops and executes business unit, department or sub-functional strategy to achieve key business objectives

- Evaluates key business challenges; directs the development of new or innovative solutions

Interpersonal Skills
- Influences and negotiates at the top executive levels, with great latitude on outcomes; presents and defends complicated or delicate issues.
- Has solid understanding of formal change management techniques or is prepared to acquire them.
Position requires understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with these standards at all times. This includes demonstrating the highest level of ethical conduct reflecting Applied Materials' core values.

U.S. Salary Range:
$200,000.00 - $275,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
