Common App is currently searching for a Senior Director Product Strategy Applications Gateway.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Beyond a college application provider, Common App is motivated by a mission - promoting access, equity, and integrity in the college admissions process for all students. We carry the responsibility to evolve and adapt to the needs of every student including learners who may not believe postsecondary education is within their reach. We are expanding our product strategy team to answer the challenges students and our higher education members face.
The Senior Director Product Strategy is a mission-driven individual passionate about solving challenges in postsecondary education. You will translate business strategy into a winning product strategy for existing and new services that will continue to serve 1.3 million students applying to over 1000 4-year colleges as Freshman or Transfer students, as well as facilitate student enrollment in community colleges and subsequent attainment of a baccalaureate degree. You will drive successful action throughout the organization to get these services to market. You thrive in a collaborative, high-communication environment, and build partnerships to deliver customer outcomes.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
This role requires:
- Candidates must live in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, or other business disciplines; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- At least 5 years of product management experience or at least 7 years of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering
- Served or partnered in various business roles across an organization, e.g. strategy, analytics, sales, marketing, or services
- Demonstrable experience launching successful technology products.
- Skilled at making evidence-based decisions relying both on qualitative and quantitative data; proven ability to identify the data that matters the most and synthesize it into actionable information.
- Adept at managing and maintaining relationships between multifunctional team members.
- Intellectually curious with a test-and-learn mentality.
- A willingness to roll up your sleeves and wear many hats.
- Put users at the center of ideation, design, and execution.
- An inherently collaborative style to activate team members and harness the best ideas from across the organization.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and in an organization that is experiencing rapid growth.
- Proficient in using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack, JIRA, Aha, and Salesforce.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in an enrollment management-focused technology company or postsecondary enrollment management or registrar office
- Ability to travel 5-6 times annually for 2-3 days each for corporate retreats and opportunities to meet with users and advisory groups strongly preferred.
- Enrollment analytics, community college enrollment challenges, and student upward transfer pathways subject matter expertise.
