Senior Director, Public Relations and Social Media
Job Description
The leader of the LG Senior Director, Public Relations & Social Media team will oversee marketing related PR and Social activity across Home Entertainment, Home Appliance and Corporate Communications. This position will manage internal LG PR & Social teams as well as the PR agency of record. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience shaping a company's communication to various audiences through interviews, press releases and other owned & earned channels. The position will occasionally serve as a spokesperson for LG with press and as an MC at live events.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all communications across PR and Social platforms
- Manage Home Appliance and Home Electronics business unit PR leads and Social Media team lead
- Drive a media relations strategy that seeks high level placements in print, broadcast and online media
- Act as corporate spokesperson when needed, including in-person speaking engagements across nationwide conferences, tradeshows, panels and events
- Craft messages that communicate the company's positioning and strategies to global investors
- Coordination with LG Marketing team leaders to drive a proactive and unified go-to-market strategy
- Work closely with Internal Communications & HR team to help ensure a regular and clear cadence of communications to the organization
- Add to LG's messaging reach by develop new platforms for communications of LG messages that best reach consumer audiences
- Development of annual PR & Social KPI's across BUs with regular results tracking to ensure progress.
- Forge collaborative relationship with LG Headquarters Marketing/PR/Social leads to ensure consistency in programs being developed or lead by HQ
- If situations arise, help lead crisis management response for situations involving the company or products
- Working closely with LG executives to tell LG US's story
- Identify/implement key opportunities for executives through panels/speaking engagements
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree is required; in marketing or marketing communications preferably
- Minimum of 15 years of PR & Social Media experience is required
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Track record of public speaking and media spokesperson responsibilities
- Craft messages that communicate the company's positioning and strategies effectively to investors. These include corporate presentations, factsheets, press releases, web material and quarterly/ yearly financial reports.
