About You  

You bring a strong background in hands-on store management with career progression to multi store oversight with full P&L responsibility. A highly analytical strategist and decision maker with the ability to balance creative vision with data supported performance plans.  You've created and utilized these plans to lead store expansion strategy and execution, setting and delivering on aggressive timelines and success metrics.  You're a retail expert who can grow and operate the brick-and-mortar revenue channel and deliver on profit goals.  

About The Role 

The Senior Director, Retail role is focused on performance, growth, and development of existing and future stores.  Step in to oversee all aspects of the retail program, leading the current store management, operations, and merch teams; enable store growth strategy and develop the function to open new locations from site identification, leasing, design and construction through merchandising, staffing, opening and management.    

  • Analyze and assess retail business to identify opportunity; implement measure and iterate to continuously improve   
  • Develop playbook and processes to enable expansion 
  • Lay groundwork for store expansion from location selection through store opening including lease negotiation, design/build, logistics, staffing, and marketing 
  • Ensure store systems, procedures and infrastructure support scale  
  • Focus on standardization and create replicable process and workflows with team management to streamline operational efficiency, training and development, clienteling and sales programs 
  • Build and lead teams that exceed targets across differing functions of the retail program 
  • Collaborate closely with planning and FP&A functions to establish forecast and assortments 
  • Accountable for store P&L budget  
  • Ideate and innovate retail marketing initiatives; identify resource needs and justify with supporting ROI justification 
     

Qualifications & Experience 

  • 10+ years multifaceted retail management experience 
  • Demonstratable success opening multiple stores with overlapping timelines, on schedule and on budget, adhering to brand expectations  
  • Demonstratable success improving existing store performance with clear articulation of actions taken and resulting metrics 
  • In-depth new store project management experience with capability to lead several projects at once  
  • Growth mindset with ability to balance  focus on current business with expansion initiatives  
  • Analytically strong, with experience creating strategy and financial models to optimize stores, testing and iterating on hypothesis to deliver results   
  • Experience creating short and long term strategy in a fast paced dynamic environment 
  • Player-coach leadership ability with focus on critical thinking and problem solving skills
