Team: Business Development

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Director, Sourcing in Canada.

In this senior leadership role, you will define and execute sourcing strategies for a major energy sector client, driving cost optimization, supplier performance, and long-term value creation. You will lead a high-performing team of sourcing professionals while collaborating closely with account and facilities leadership to ensure alignment with client objectives. The role requires a strong balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution, with responsibility for managing complex procurement initiatives and supplier ecosystems. You will operate in a fast-paced, client-facing environment where innovation, negotiation strength, and stakeholder influence are essential. A key part of your impact will come from building strong relationships with Indigenous and local suppliers while ensuring compliance and ethical sourcing practices. This is a high-impact opportunity for a sourcing leader who thrives in complex, decentralized environments.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives that deliver measurable cost savings and operational value
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts across Indigenous and non-Indigenous vendor networks
  • Oversee RFP processes, contract negotiations, and end-to-end sourcing projects from planning to execution
  • Act as the subject matter expert on market trends, supplier performance, and pricing strategies
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to clients based on market intelligence and operational data
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing sourcing team focused on excellence and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with internal sourcing policies, risk frameworks, and ethical standards
  • Support diversity and Indigenous supplier engagement strategies aligned with client and organizational goals
  • Represent the organization in client meetings, supplier discussions, and business reviews
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of sourcing strategies
  • Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain leadership roles
    • Strong background in the energy sector, with knowledge of physical site operations considered a strong asset
    • Experience working with Indigenous suppliers and community partnerships
    • Proven ability to lead teams in decentralized and complex environments
    • Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
    • Demonstrated project management and stakeholder management experience
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
    • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA and/or SCM certification preferred
    • Willingness to travel occasionally across Canada and select U.S. locations
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive salary range: CAD $135,000 – $160,000 per year
      • Performance-based compensation aligned with experience and qualifications
      • Remote work flexibility within Alberta-based locations
      • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits package
      • Opportunities for leadership development and career growth
      • Exposure to high-impact, large-scale energy sector projects
      • Inclusive and diverse work environment with strong focus on Indigenous partnerships
      • Access to global best practices and enterprise-level sourcing frameworks
