The Senior Director, Strategy, will be responsible for identifying and developing growth/expansion opportunities for AMN. Armed with knowledge about the market and customers' needs, the Senior Director of Strategy will perform strategic analysis to determine how to expand the business. This individual will partner with the division Group President and senior leaders to formulate long term strategic priorities and plans, analysis of emerging industry trends and competitive dynamics, and will provide recommendations on expansion opportunities. This individual will have M&A responsibilities in the form of assisting with target list building and leading the diligence and integration process for business unit-specific acquisitions. While growth strategy will be primary focus, this person will also be involved in other functions such as product marketing to help craft and develop new/unique solutions to bring to market.

The Senior Director, Strategy, will specialize in division-specific solutions, but will be well-versed in all of AMN's solutions to incorporate enterprise impacts and opportunities into their analysis and decisions.

Job Tasks:

  • Formulate long-term strategic priorities and plans, analysis and recommendation related to emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, competitive dynamics, and internal business performance improvement.
  • Analyze outlook of the industry, competitors, economy and regulatory to determine their potential impact on divisional goals and business outcomes.
  • Partner with Division Group President and leadership team to translate enterprise goals into division specific growth opportunities with actionable plans and key results metrics for both short and long term opportunities
  • Cross-collaborate with other division strategy partners to gain enterprise perspective on division strategy to inform plans
  • Responsible for leading projects focused on key strategic initiatives for division that improve and expand the divisions market position and achieve growth and financial profitability
  • Identify and develop and monitor key analytics/scorecard measures
  • Continuously monitor market, client trends and competitive landscape to help identify new business opportunities including new solutions and M&A target lists
  • Provide thought leadership with respect to division-level strategies and business development.
  • Build and deliver presentations regarding project direction and recommendations to division senior leadership team.
  • Work with Head of Enterprise Strategy to run diligence and integration process for M&A opportunities

Minimum Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or equivalent

Preferred Education/Certifications:

  • MBA

Minimum Experience:

  • 7+ years leading high-profile, strategic initiatives and/or business leadership
  • Solving complex business problems using a multi-disciplined, analytical and fact-based approach.
  • Ability to translate strategy into execution and report results
  • Market opportunity assessments
  • Identifying macro and micro economic trends
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills across multiple levels and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to persuade others, build consensus and work in a team.
  • Excellent research skills and ability to organize, synthesize and present information and resulting conclusions.

  • Must have strong listening skills and possess the ability to capture the perspectives of diverse stakeholders, in order to develop a unified plan and solution.

$205,500 - $225,000 Salary

Pay Rate

Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
