Senior Director, Target Discovery & Genomics

We are seeking an inspirational and visionary Senior Director of Target Discovery and Genomics to lead our efforts to initiate new programs and move these programs forward efficiently. Your extensive experience and expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our research endeavors.

You will be reporting to our Chief Scientific Officer & Head of Research, and you are expected to closely collaborate with research biologists and project team leaders.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic initiatives for Target Discovery and Computational Biology, with a focus on efficiently launching and advancing new programs.
• Provide scientific, strategic, and managerial guidance to an enthusiastic team of scientists.
• Collaborate closely with research biologists, project team leaders, and other stakeholders to devise comprehensive strategies that utilize state-of-the-art technologies.
• Leverage publicly available genetic studies, large-scale population data, and in-house generated data to identify novel targets.
• Seamlessly integrate discovered targets into preclinical plans, enabling well-informed decision-making throughout the preclinical phase.

Requirements:

• Possess a Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., genomics, computational biology, molecular biology)
• Demonstrate a remarkable track record of over 15 years in target discovery, computational biology, and genomics within the biotech, pharmaceutical industry or academia.
• Exhibit strong scientific leadership skills with a proven track record to drive target discovery programs from conception to preclinical stages.
• Possess expert knowledge in utilizing in silico approaches, publicly available genetic studies, and experimental data for target identification and validation.
• Familiarity with CRISPR-based perturbation experiments and human induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSC) derived cellular models.
• Showcase exceptional experience in inspiring and mentoring scientific teams.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
