Position: Senior Director, Ukraine/Poland and Senior Legal Director
Job Duties:
- Oversee the daily operations and representing Nextiva in Ukraine and Poland by providing direction and guidance to the teams and organization
- Deliver and implementing Nextiva’s strategic plans and goals, managing entities in Ukraine and Poland. This includes ensuring strategic planning and risk management.
- Lead and support Nextiva’s international expansion to Mexico, India, Canada, UK, etc.
- Hire and terminate employees, sign employment related documents and manage employment issues
- Manage relationships with the company vendors, external legal counsels, local and government authorities as well as represent Nextiva in communications, negotiations and at the business meetings
- Manage Nextiva Ukraine and Poland’s Legal, Finance, HR, Office Admin, and Helpdesk admin teams by working with other teams in Ukraine/Poland to provide support and ensure business continuity. This includes supporting their professional and personal development by leadership, coaching and mentoring.
- Manage legal functions for Nextiva in Ukraine, Poland and Europe, working with U.S. Legal team by advising on legal issues to senior leadership and the teams to remove the roadblocks to progress
- Execute, manage, and sign agreements, perform transactions, sign financial and banking documents and other legally binding documents such as contracts, powers of attorney, orders, instructions, and regulations on behalf of Nextiva in Ukraine and Poland
- Organize Nextiva’s regulatory/tax compliance and corporate governance in Ukraine and Poland
- TRAVEL: Quarterly trips to Poland and Ukraine for business meetings and for onsite work with local teams.
Salary: Available upon request
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week
Job Requirements:
Education Requirements: Masters degree in International Relations, Juris Doctorate, or closely related. Employer will accept foreign equivalent degree in the same field.
Experience Requirements: 24 months of experience in job offered, Director of Legal, Europe and Executive Director, Associate, or closely related.
Special skills requirements:
- Experience establishing and representing a European company before governmental authorities, legal entities, and individuals.
- Experience practicing commercial, contractual and employment laws in Ukraine.
- Experience executing, managing, signing agreements, performing transactions, signing financial and banking documents as well as other legally binding documents such as contracts, powers of attorney, orders, instructions, and regulations for a European company.
- Experience working with 1C Enterprise software suite such as ERP, accounting and payroll/HR applications.
- Experience working with legal documents on government portals, and other governmental resources in Poland.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence for the management of projects.
- Experience working with Ukrainian legal/case law databases and government e-services.
- Experience working with online banking systems in Ukraine.
