We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior DoD Financial Manager supporting the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters in Arlington, VA. The potential candidate will provide expertise for all Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution activities. This support includes interaction with Washington Headquarters Services and the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, Office of the Director of Business Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters oversee budget formulation and execution of the office's appropriated budget to meet and exceed Comptroller execution benchmarks
• Prepare budget exhibits (e.g., Rl-R4) within the Comptroller Budget Exhibit database; assist with the development of budget Issue papers; and support documentation for Program Decision Memorandums; and generate and maintain files within Defense Agencies Initiative financial system
• Prepare and participate in Triennial reviews; address unliquidated obligations; and monitor obligation and expenditure rates for Nuclear Matters Program Elements
• Prepare overview briefings for presentation to congressional staff members and other senior government officials
• Prepare background material, attend, and record minutes for scheduled meetings

Required Experience and Qualifications Needed:

• 10 years of related experience within Accounting / Financial Management / Project Management or a combination of to include at minimum a Bachelors Degree.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in Department of Defense, especially Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution
• Applicant must hold an active Top-Secret security clearance and be eligible to access Sensitive Compartmentalized Information to apply for this position
• Applicant must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• A Master's degree with at least 7 years' experience is a suitable substitute
• Prior experience within the Office of the Secretary of Defense

Education:

Bachelor's degree AND 10 years of related (accounting / financial management / project management or a combination of) experience is required. (Degree substitution 20 years of nuclear and non-nuclear infrastructure force protection and physical security technology or 15 years of nuclear weapons system experience)
