Senior Editor and Post Production
Job Description
Carta is a platform that helps people manage equity, build businesses, and invest in the companies of tomorrow. Our mission is to create more owners.Â
Carta is trusted by more than 30,000 companies and over half a million employees in nearly 150 countries to manage cap tables, compensation, and valuations. Carta also supports over 5,000 funds representing over $100B in assets under administration with their venture capital solutions. Carta’s liquidity solutions have returned $13B to shareholders in secondary transactions. Today Carta’s platform manages over two trillion dollars in equity for nearly two million people globally. Companies and funds like Canva, Tribe, and Pipe build their businesses on Carta.Â
The company has been included on the Forbes World’s Best Cloud Companies, Fast Company's Most Innovative list, and Inc.’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies. We’ve also been recognized as a 2023 Built In Best Place to Work in the U.S. and a Muse VIBE Award winner in the Vacation and Time Off category.

Brand Marketing is the guiding force for bringing Carta’s soul to the market. At Carta, we believe our responsibility is to help people everywhere understand the value of equity ownership — and teach them how to make smart financial decisions. It all starts with entertaining them.
Carta is rapidly expanding from a business defined by a single product (Cap Table Management) to a platform of equity-driven solutions that deliver value for more people (products like Total Compensation, Venture Capital, and Liquidity). The team is driven by the opportunity to distinguish Carta across its categories, helping democratize equity ownership, and increase access to financial education.Â
We are looking for a Senior Editor & Post Producer to help transform our budding Multimedia Team into a world-class content production hub. To be successful, you should be an experienced editor with an amazing eye for narrative storytelling — especially in the realms of documentary and education.Â
You’re a master of pacing, music, color correction, and (most importantly) narrative clarity, and you specialize in bringing Hollywood-style showmanship to content that the “Average Joe” would expect to be mundane. You’re experienced in every style of filmmaking — from going guerilla to managing full-scale productions — and your bar for quality stays high no matter what.
You’ll also work with a team of skilled designers, third-party animators, and video agencies to manage a well-oiled production pipeline. To do this, you’ll collaborate directly with our Head of Creative to build processes that are designed to scale without compromising on quality.
- Create world-class media content that will be loved by an entire industry
- Build professional post-production processes that scale
- Ensure the quality of creative output is the highest level
- Identify gaps in our capabilities — when we need to build and when we need to source specialists
- 7+ years of editing experience recommended
- 3+ years of post producing experience, either at an agency or in-house creative team
- Deep expertise in linear editing, design, and coloring software:
- Adobe Premiere
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- *Bonus* Adobe After Effects
- Da Vinci Resolve
- Excellent cutting skills
- Ability to build productive relationships at all levels throughout an organization, and cross functionally
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Hands-on experience in creative process, marketing, graphic design, and brand development
- Bonus for experience with Masterclass-like education content
Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:Â
- Â $150,000 - $165,000Â in [SF]Â
- Â $150,000 - $165,000Â in [SF]Â
Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing a positive interview experience for every candidate. If accommodations due to a disability or medical condition are needed, connect with us via email at [email protected]. As a company, we value fairness, helpfulness, transparency, leadership and build our teams around these values.
