Senior Editor, Marketing

Carrot Fertility is seeking an exceptional writer and editor with a passion for impactful storytelling for a senior-level role within Carrot’s Marketing team. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of strategic communications, how it has evolved, and where it sits at the intersection of business, society, and culture. 

As Carrot’s Senior Editor, you will own Carrot’s external-facing voice and be responsible for elevating that voice across all aspects of Carrot’s editorial program. You will be responsible for honing the voices of Carrot’s senior leaders in their respective areas of expertise and incorporating their thought leadership efforts into the overall editorial strategy. As the final editor on all marketing content, you’ll also have oversight of how Carrot’s voice comes across in marketing editorial operations, including multimedia, writing, social media, and more, with a focus on maximizing the quality output of the editorial team. 

Beyond building editorial excellence, you must have a passion and flair for writing. You will be responsible for drafting original reports, op-eds, and more on a wide range of topics. This role reports to Carrot’s AVP of Integrated Marketing.

Job Responsibilities:

• Set Carrot’s overall editorial voice, output expectations, and standards for Carrot’s marketing and thought leadership content
• Provide direction, feedback, and proofing on articles, scripts, social media posts, and more
• Ensure all editorial content adheres to Carrot’s standards, is published on time, and achieves an exceptional degree of quality
• Forecast and report on readership, traffic, and engagement metrics
• Partner with PR in thought leadership strategy development and execution of content strategy outside Carrot’s owned properties
• Lead the strategic planning and budgeting processes for the group
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• 10+ years previous experience in news or related publishing media
• Experience with social media
• Experience with SEO and third party platform distribution
• Knowledge of publishing industry operations and standards
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Journalism experience a plus

Compensation:

The expected base salary for this position will range from $150,000 - $175,000. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
