About the Role
You will be a Senior Editor with The Lancet family of journals in North America. Working closely with the North American Executive Editor. The Senior Editor role is a hybrid based out of the New York office.
Responsibilities• Liaising with the Lancet specialty journals to help communicate content. Promoting special projects in the US• Conducting peer reviews, clinical trials and acquisitions, negotiate revisions• Evaluating papers, team presentations, peer reviews for those with the highest potential clinical impact and participate in team decision making.• Promoting special projects (e.g., Series, Commissions, etc.) in the US. In addition, to managing the Preprints with The Lancet in partnership with the SSRN team.• Contribute to the commissioning of Comments, Perspectives, Seminars, Reviews, and Clinical, Global Health, and other Series and Commissions• Reviewing editorial writing and outreach and working with other Lancet branded programs
Requirements• Have a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline of molecular biology• Be able to be a problem solver regarding a wide range of scientific issues• Able to engage with the scientific community
