General Description:

Purpose for this role is to support site EHS leader to develop EHS system to ensure EHS compliance and drive the EHS culture to establish safe and healthy working environment.

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Support site EHS leader to manage overall EHS management system structure for compliance assurance and integrates all compliance tools into facility operations.
  • Participates in objective setting, plan development and performance review of manufacturing performance.
  • Develop database of EHS laws and review process to ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and permits under OSHA , EPA, and any other non-financial regulating body.
  • Lead risk assessment and track the CAPA measures to reduce risk, includes but not limited with chemical management, environment management, biosafety management, machine guarding, PPE, confined Space, ergonomic, work at height, IH, slip and trip etc.
  • Support site EHS leader to develop EHS committee to manage overall EHS activities.
  • Develop EHS SOPs accordingly and ensure to implement it on site effectively.
  • Maintains positive, proactive relationships with all regulatory contacts creating easy communication flow and positive view of facility by regulators.
  • Ensures training systems provide proper platform to promote ever increasing standards for safe work execution.
  • Ensures all required compliance audits are performed, gaps are communicated and deficiency plans are developed and implemented.
  • Support site EHS leader to develop and implements succession plan for future plants and projects.
  • Support site EHS leader to develop EHS inspection mechanism to detect existing and potential risk and hazards and take corrective and preventive measure systematically.
  • Organize various EHS activities to improve employee EHS awareness.
  • Incident investigation include near miss, first aid, recordable, LTA and LTI and follow actions.
  • Contractor management for EHS issues to ensure them in compliance with EHS standards.
  • Emergency response drill in accordance with emergency procedure, e.g. emergency evacuation, chemical spill emergency etc
  • Keep good relationship with local government on EHS-related such as EPA.
  • Any other assignment as is determined by supervisor.

Technical/Skills Required

  • Advanced understanding of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory requirements applicable to the work environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and fostering an inclusive working and learning environment).   • Advanced communication skills to collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Preferred Experience with 'Green-Field' projects specifically in BioPharm facilities.

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree or above in related field such as engineering, safety or environmental sciences required; MBA or master's degree preferred.

Working Experience

  • Above 8 years EHS work experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or high tech industries is desired.

Language, Computer Literacy, Office Software, etc.

Good MS office operating skills, simple Chinese in oral communication is preferred.

Salary Range: $126,500.00 - $171,500.00 annually

BeiGene is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
