Senior Elixir Developer

We are looking for a Senior Elixir Engineer for our North American customer who is transforming the field sales industry. This is remote opportunity from Argentina, Brazil, or Colombia.

About the job:

As a software engineer, you'll be part of a collaborative team that brings together engineers, designers, and product managers to create software solutions aimed at improving field sales. We are seeking a Senior Elixir Engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality results, capable of overcoming both technical hurdles and tight deadlines, while following sound software design principles and processes. You thrive on driving innovation, and no technology challenge is too difficult for you to handle.

Responsibilities:

• Integrate applications that we have acquired with our existing applications through techniques such as ESB/Messaging (Enterprise Service Bus).
• Assist in the development of APIs and backend technologies to support our mobile applications and client interfaces.
• Help drive revenue by building robust product features.
• Increase our automated test coverage and code quality.
• Address security concerns and proficiently maintain our backend software systems.

Requirements:

• At least 7 years of professional experience creating software and some experience with Elixir or functional languages.
• Experience with a service bus for coordinating services and applications.
• Professional experience building services in a service-oriented architecture (SOA).
• Worked professionally on multi-tenant applications and are familiar with scale concerns and how to overcome them.
• Experience with CI/CD where you are always shipping.
• A problem solver with a passion for simple, clean, and maintainable solutions.
• Experience writing automated tests and appreciate the benefit that tests offer.
• Self-motivated and able to manage yourself.
• Agree that concise and effective written and verbal communication is a must for a successful team.
• Have a passion for simplifying solutions.
• Have experience working on a few mid-to-large-size web applications.
• Familiarity with event sourcing and/or data pipelines and time series data.
• Believe that speaking openly and candidly about problems is how you solve them.

Nice to have:

• 2+ years of experience with Elixir and knowledge of Phoenix framework.
• Familiarity with [OTP, Oban, and clustered Erlang] is highly desirable.
• Experience with SQL databases such as [MySQL, Postgres or SQL Server].
• Experience with Domain Driven Design.
