Senior ELK Engineer

We are looking for a Senior ELK Engineer for the support team to enhance our company's ability to maintain, innovate, and automate our Elastic Observability and Search platforms.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic group responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and continuous improvement of the ELK stack, as well as contributing to the automation of PagerDuty and Uptrends SaaS support.

This role will involve participation in an on-call support rota, including up to 8 hours on one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday).
The remote option applies only to the Candidates who will be working from any location in Ukraine.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant Elastic clusters
• Perform upgrades and maintain the efficiency of the supported beats versions and self-hosted components
• Handle SSL certificate rotations, capacity management, cost optimization, and performance tuning of the clusters
• Update and maintain IAC automation scripts for cluster management and support onboarding
• Enhance the Observability Platform integration with internal tools, setting up Watchers, Kibana Rules, and integration with PagerDuty
• Oversee ELK stack configurations and manage stack limits on various layers
• Act as the primary contact for troubleshooting and resolving incidents and issues
• Maintain platform documentation and SOPs
• Coordinate with vendors for installation, upgrades, and daily operational tasks
• Support data ingestion, data enrichment, data backup, and restoration processes
• Guide team members on APM usage and best practices
• Train and onboard new team members while providing necessary documentation and support

Requirements

• 3+ years of overall experience in Cloud Platform Support
• Demonstrable experience in the implementation and maintenance of Elasticsearch clusters
• Proficient with Elastic Synthetics and RUM among other observability technologies
• In-depth knowledge of IAC scripting and pipeline tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex issues efficiently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with PagerDuty and Uptrends
• Background in data analytics
