Senior Embedded Software Engineer
Job Description
Keurig Brewers utilize advanced technology to provide the Perfect Cup, in every cup.Working in a systems-oriented environment, the Senior Embedded Software Engineerwill be involved throughout the Keurig Connected Brewer System product lifecycle and will contribute to the development and enhancement of test infrastructure and guide automation as well as the creation and execution of test plans to ensure that brewer software is functioning properly and provides the proper user experience. The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will collaborate with a diverse global team tovalidate ascalable software system: IoT Platform, cloud services and cloud application partners, mobile application developers, data scientists, brewer design engineers, business systems analysts, customer service, quality, and IT operations.
The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be part of the Connected Software Development Team reporting to the Software Quality Assurance & Automation Manager responsible for the Connected Software test coverage for Keurig Dr Pepper systems. This role will be a blend of working with all on-brewer and off-brewer teams, providing leadership as well as hands-on participation in all facets of testing.
You Will:
- Ensure test cases cover all requirements for both on-brewer, connectivity and off-brewer projects
- Participate in the agile workflow to provide test coverage during each sprint
- Direct distributed teams of test engineers to collaborate on testing
- Document results and enter defects into Jira
- Present results and status to the greater development team
- Mentor new and junior test engineers
- Identify which test cases should be automated and work with SDETs to prioritize testing
- Aid in the creation and maintenance of our extensive test lab
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent experience
- 5-10 years of experience in software development or software quality including at least 1 full lifecycle development projects bringing consumer products or similar to market
- Experience testing embedded products running on Embedded Linux/RTOS and/or bare metal
- Familiarity with Agile processes as they apply to software development
- Expertise in all areas of manual test: test case writing, execution, defect writing and triage, negative testing, error scenarios, longevity testing, etc
- Ability to lead teams of test engineers as well as software developers in test
- Excellent communication, analytical reasoning, decision making and problem-solving skills
- Experience writing automated tests and frameworks in Python
Bonus points for experience with:
- Validating Wi-Fi, recognition, and/or smart technology
- Confluence, JIRA, Xray
- Testing on Android and/or iOS
- Leading distributed teams, especially with folks in other time-zones
- Working in a fast-paced environment as part of an enthusiastic and eclectic development team
