What you'll achieve

As a Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software basis the customer's business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions. This is a technical "hands on" role in either Austin or Round Rock, Texas with an opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced delivery-oriented environment working with global teams in different time zones.

You will:

  • Demonstrate your ability to design, code, test, and deliver industry leading embedded management solutions for our datacenter customers as a key member of our agile team
  • Be responsible for full software and firmware development lifecycle including planning, development, test, deployment & support for embedded firmware based on the open source OpenBMC project
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members both locally and globally to deliver the best of the class software solutions to the server market
  • Grow your capabilities as a senior engineer through hands on learning and mentoring by junior engineers
  • Innovate by providing unique ideas and perspectives to team challenges

Essential Requirements

  • 12-15 years of professional Embedded Software Engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Recent and hands on scripting experience in with Python or Bash & proficient in C/C++
  • Experience with Linux internals, embedded software/firmware, and operating system concepts
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, as well as, familiar with algorithmic concepts that can scale with constant performance and knowledge of Embedded firmware projects such as Yocto or OpenBMC
  • Ability to design, implement, and debug Linux multi-threaded applications

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in BIOS, device drivers, hardware interfaces, global teams in different time zones, with effort estimation and project planning, and with technical leadership for architecture, high level design and implementation
  • Knowledge of Web technologies like JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Angular, React, HTML5, Node.js, Vue.js.
