Senior Embedded Systems Engineer (JOB ID 002487)
Job Description
Job Summary
Our partner, a leader in the aerospace and defense sector, is in the midst of a next-generation technology upgrade and is actively seeking a senior embedded systems engineer to support a critical refresh initiative of their avionics platform. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-impact engineering team tasked with characterizing the latest Intel SoC technologies and ensuring performance compliance with safety-critical aviation standards. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of embedded systems architecture, low-level performance tuning, and system validation for airborne environments.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years of experience working with embedded systems in safety-critical or aerospace environments
• Strong hands-on expertise with Intel’s Tiger Lake SoC and multicore processor architecture
• Proficiency in low-level programming (C/C++), benchmarking tools, and performance monitoring
• Demonstrated experience authoring technical white papers or documentation for certification bodies
• Working knowledge of AC 20-193 and DO-178C standards for airborne systems
• Familiarity with GPU-accelerated systems, memory/cache partitioning, and performance isolation
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Experience working with this client or other major aerospace organizations
• Background in AGM-400 test frameworks or similar benchmarking environments
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the architectural evaluation and performance analysis of Intel Tiger Lake SoC with a focus on multicore CPU and Xe GPU features
• Design and document a comprehensive characterization strategy to demonstrate deterministic multicore behavior in complex, cache-coherent systems
• Build and integrate benchmarking tools to analyze performance counters, memory throughput, transaction ordering, and cross-core cache interference
• Simulate worst-case memory/cache access patterns within an avionics test framework to validate system behavior under stress
• Support development of certification documentation in alignment with AC 20-193 standards
• Conduct performance testing, monitoring, and data analysis; generate technical justifications to support airworthiness certification
• Collaborate with internal hardware, software, and compliance teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and system integrity throughout the refresh program
