About the Role:

FareHarbor is looking for a dynamic HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, skilled at coaching and advising managers through complex people issues. The Senior Employee Relations Specialist will be a key member supporting our four US offices (Denver, Boston, San Francisco, Honolulu), as well as supporting global People Team initiatives. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, able to prioritize and work across multiple tasks and longer-term projects, and be highly collaborative with stakeholders at all levels of our matrixed organization and HR colleagues at our parent organization. 

Description:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, perform investigations as needed, and track outcomes.
  • Support managers with employee performance improvement initiatives, including the development and tracking of performance improvement plans.
  • Serve as the expert on local employment practices across our various geographies, continuously learning changing regulations.
  • Assist HR Generalists, employees, and managers with complex leave of absence or workers compensation claims. 
  • Ensure smooth execution of HR processes and proactively resolve issues as they arise. 
  • Adjudicate background check escalations in accordance with company policy. 
  • Review remote work requests, making approval recommendations after considering  local legislation and business implications. 
  • Liaise with parent company HR Operations, payroll, HRIS, and benefits team to resolve employee questions and issues, to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Collaborate with the Global People Team to support global projects, adapt global initiatives or policies to the region’s local culture /  employment law / practices.
  • Utilize internal tools to analyze HR-related metrics, trends, and identify gaps, and make recommendations to optimize our People programs and practices.   
  • Make recommendations for improvement and perform related project management as directed, such as HR audits, employee communications, compliance review, Handbook updates, etc.
  • Support the development of a diverse and inclusive work population, and facilitate projects with employees to promote these objectives.

Competencies:

  • HR Expertise, ethical practice, comprehensive and practical understanding of US employment law application and variances by state 
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management
  • Ability to apply creativity to critical thinking
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and priorities, and follow through to completion
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, open-office environment
  • Exercise discretion with sensitive and confidential information
  • Communicate effectively 1 to 1, and in groups in-person or via email, chat, phone/video calls, etc. 

 Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in HR
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred
  • Proven success with conducting thorough employee  investigations
  • Ability to advise and coach leaders at a senior level
  • Ability to work in multiple computer systems such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, HRIS systems, and HR ticketing systems. Experience with Workday and Zendesk ideal, but not required.

Salary Range: $62,960-$78,700, plus 10% bonus potential
