About the role:
Samara’s IoT platform has resonated resoundingly with customers, and the company is growing explosively. We are looking for a collaborative leader to help drive our fast-growing engineering team and to lay the foundation and build the organization’s operations as we scale.
In this role, you'll drive engineering organizational development, exercise operational decision-making and develop and lead new engineering enablement initiatives. You will develop goal-oriented, challenge-seeking engineers through training and enablement programs. You will also identify engineering bottlenecks through metrics and data analysis and improve engineering productivity through organizational and infrastructure improvements.
In this role, you will:
- Develop, organize and execute enablement and culture building programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization
- Develop and lead engineering onboarding and training programs
- Design and build leadership development programs to develop R&D leadership and management
- Measure and analyze engineering performance across product groups and suggest improvements
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
- Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross functional business partners to help inform enablement needs, and identify continuous improvement opportunities of enablement programs and culture building initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Experience with managing teams
- Experience with developing and scoping enablement programs
- Excellent analytical skills, passion for data
- Strong written communication and presentation skills
- Growth mindset and demonstrated problem solving abilities
- Experience working with engineering teams; familiar with software development processes, SaaS delivery models, etc.
- 6 years professional experience, including management consulting, growth or business operations, or similar
An ideal candidate also has:
- Experience working in an Enterprise SaaS environment
- 3 years people-management experience
- B.S. or higher, preferably in a quantitative field (engineering, applied math, etc.). MBA optional

Flexible Working
At Samsara, we have adopted a flexible way of working, enabling teams and individuals to do their best work, regardless of where they’re based. We value in-person collaboration and know a change of scenery and quiet space to work is welcomed from time to time, but also appreciate that the world of work has changed. Our offices remain open for those who prefer to collaborate or work in-office, but we also encourage fully remote applicants.
