Position Summary
The End User Support Senior Endpoint Engineer works with other infrastructure and server engineers to validate and test software deployment packages. They possess strong working knowledge and experience supporting desktop hardware and software. Providing escalation support to desktop technicians and Endpoint Engineers. This role requires moderate knowledge of application packaging, patching and deployment practices including reviewing log files for troubleshooting post deployment.
Areas of Responsibility
  • Provide escalation support to Service Desk and End User Support leads, when all troubleshooting options have been exhausted.
  • Manages service request queue and resolves daily hardware and software service and support requests. Adheres to established service level agreements. Thoroughly documenting work performed in ticketing system.
  • Software deployment technology
    • Troubleshoot - new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes
    • Deployment Servers - Install, manage and troubleshoot Microsoft, Apple desktop OS systems including Android and iOS mobile platforms.
    • Manage and support the patching console of 5500 plus endpoints throughout the enterprise.
    • Create and manage enterprise collections (e.g. testing, exceptions and etc.) for deployments and patch cycles.
    • Create, manage and test collections for Patching (e.g. 1st, 2nd and 3rd party) and application deployments.
  • Manage and participate in weekly departments meetings discussing current vulnerabilities (e.g. critical, high, medium and low) impacting the enterprise and which deployments you will be assigned.
  • Advance knowledge of Apple device management tools for management and deployment of applications and patching including troubleshooting.
  • Participate in product introduction team/development meetings related to delivering new applications to the user base.
  • Manage and participate in weekly departments meetings discussing current vulnerabilities (e.g. critical, high, medium and low) impacting the enterprise and which deployments you will be assigned.

  • Identify opportunities to automate operational processes across the desktop environment.

Minimum Requirements
  • 5-10 years Desktop Support, Field Support or related work experience
  • Intermediate understanding of MECM (SCCM) and Windows patching processes
  • Advance experience working in an Active Directory environment including Local and Group Policy
  • Working knowledge of Windows 2016/2012r2/2008R2 operating systems and Active Directory in a global enterprise environment
  • Understand Active Directory and Local Group Policy design and have working proficiency of Forests, Domains, Trusts
  • Experience working with physical and virtual servers/workstations
  • Familiarity with VMWare technologies
  • Familiarity with network standards
  • Intermediate understanding of Windows PKI, Certificates.
  • Comfortable with contacting third parties for support
  • Advance understanding and experience with LAN/WAN/Internet environments (TCP/IP knowledge -- IP addresses, subnet masks, default gateway...etc.)
  • Scripting / automation (Python, Shell, Bash, PowerShell) with API experience
  • Able to write detailed system and user documentation when necessary
  • Provide after-hours support for service escalations when required
  • Change management technologies (Chef, Salt, Puppet, Ansible, SCCM)
  • Demonstrated project management skills from both team member and leader roles.
  • Analytical thinking for effective problem determination and correction within the department and in the user community is essential. The ability to work independently, make decisions under pressure, while providing timely and responsive services are the keys to this position.
  • Excellent time and project management skills, customer service and interpersonal skills, system diagnostic and communication (written and oral) are critical for success in this position.
