About The Job

The Senior Engineer’s responsibilities include providing advanced network and IT systems support issues the company’s clientele encounters. This comes in the form of advanced network and data center issues, systems architecture, providing support to escalated issues and providing mentorship to newer and existing engineers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Triage service tickets by quickly responding to and resolving/escalating end-user reported technology issues
  • Act as subject matter expert and architect on system and network related issues
  • Design and architect new networks, support existing ones and be the technical lead on advanced systems issues
  • Support and collaborate with the PMO on systems and network projects
  • Provide advanced network and systems support to the following:
    • Switches, routers, firewalls and all other related systems
    • WAN and LAN issues
    • Remote access, VPN and other endpoint security tools
    • Hardware and systems such as Cisco Meraki, Sonicwall, Netgear, Fortinet and others
    • On premise as well as virtualized and cloud hosted environments
  • Provide advanced network assistance to the network security team when applicable
  • Maintain and updateĀ service tickets, knowledge bases and time sheets
  • Comply with all organization business policies, workflow processes and documentation practices

Education & Experience

  • The following are preferred:
    • Previous IT/MSP experience in a similarly applicable role
    • Bachelor’s in a related field
    • Role applicable certifications such as:
      • CCNA / CCNP
      • VMware VCP / AWS Associate
      • Microsoft Certs such as MCSA/SE or Microsoft ā€˜Role’ based certifications
  • Advanced proficiency and understanding in the following is required:
    • Diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software
    • Installation and set up of windows clients and server operating systems
    • Storage area networks and network storage solutions
  • Ceaseless desire to deliver unsurpassed customer service and maintain knowledge and understanding of new technologies
