GHD has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Geologist/Engineer- Project Manager to support our Western U.S. environmental team, based out of either Phoenix or Tucson, Arizona. The team provides environmental services to both public and private sector clients, across a broad range of industries including aerospace, mining, energy, manufacturing, and rail transportation clients. Our work includes assessing environmental impacts and mitigating long term environmental risks through the development and monitoring of remedial systems and risk management measures. We also provide a full suite of environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing projects, including budgets, project teams and timelines
• Providing leadership in project delivery
• Overseeing environmental investigation, remediation, and/or EHS projects
• Preparing and/or overseeing the preparation of technical environmental reports
• Establishing, growing, and maintaining client relationships
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members in a learning and collaborative environment
• Working within multi-disciplinary project teams, providing environmental expertise to other GHD teams
• Opportunity to work on local, national, and global projects, which may entail supporting other GHD office locations
• Supporting strategic pursuits, including growth in both the Private and Public Sectors
• Contribute to business planning to identify opportunities to grow GHD's market share

The Ideal candidate would have the following experience/skills:

• Working knowledge of methods and procedures for site characterization, hydrogeologic analysis, and remediation of contaminants in soil, soil vapor, indoor air, and groundwater
• Experience in the technical delivery of environmental investigation and remediation projects
• Experience communicating with clients and regulators
• Experience developing conceptual site models and preparing remediation strategies
• Experience developing and preparing reports for submittal to clients and regulatory agencies
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with clients and the project team
• Experience preparing graphics and reports that present complex technical content in a clear and concise format
• Understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
• Self-starter, flexible team player, willing/able to work on a wide variety of tasks
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• A commitment to client service
• Problem solving abilities and aptitude
• Willingness to travel, including overnight trips to meet with clients, or visit project sites

Requirements:

• B.S. degree or higher in geology/hydrogeology, environmental science, engineering, or related field relevant to environmental site assessment, remediation, and EHS compliance
• 10+ years of experience
• Arizona registered geologist or engineer, or ability to attain within six months
