Job Description

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our slow speed maneuvers group in the Planning and Control team. In this role, you will get to design, develop, and productize key features for our integrated end-to-end autonomous driving platform. Your work will reach millions of people!

What you will be doing:
  • Design, develop, and mature algorithms to enable new end-to-end features. Your primary focus will be slow speed maneuvers such as parking and driving through congested areas.
  • Work with other engineering teams (perception, controls, planning, safety, etc) to integrate these features into a coherent product.
  • Work with product and testing teams to define and verify requirements through detailed analysis, testing in simulation and on the road, define and measure key performance indicators.
  • Design a system that works in multiple different settings (perception sensor modalities, map availability, environmental conditions) and mature it to the production quality.


What we need to see:
  • MS or higher in an engineering or technical field (Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to drive development of new functionalities from concept to production
  • Excellent knowledge of C/C++, along with a familiarity using scripting languages such as Bash and Python
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for physical systems
  • Familiarity programming with GIT in Linux (Ubuntu) or another Unix based system
  • Ability to think analytically and solve technical problems in a compute constrained system
  • Comfort with an Agile/Scrum software development environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills


Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • We would love to see a track-record of working on and shipping products. We definitely want to hear from you if your background includes one or more of the following:
  • A background in automotive or other safety-critical systems, including system architecture
  • Proven experience with building and integration of complex systems
  • Prior experience in delivering product-level software for robotics applications
  • Prior experience with performance tuning of real-time systems
  • Knowledge of CUDA is a plus


The Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires that NVIDIA provide the compensation range and benefits offered for this position if performed in Colorado. The base salary range for this position in Colorado is $126,000.00 - 173,250.00 USD.
NVIDIA also offers a comprehensive benefits package. We provide health care coverage, dental and vision, 401(K), including company matching and after tax contributions, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave, vacation leave, professional time off, life and disability protection. Employees in eligible sales and positions may also be eligible for commission.

Base pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related reasons.
