Role Summary
Magna Steyr is looking for talented and experienced team members in complete vehicle development who are determined and passionate about developing the next level industry standard for vehicle architectures and production solutions. In the Complete Vehicle validation discipline, the Senior Engineer is responsible to lead creation and execution of complete vehicle and subsystem/component DVP&R, and to assure read across of validation plans and complete vehicle/component requirements. This position has a high level of responsibility and visibility and will interface with OEMs, Magna divisions, global module group teams, performance attribute leaders and testing resources.

- Contribute to the Global Technical Area (GTA) strategy and growth of the engineering team
- Employ technical expertise to lead the engineering development of one or more subsystems
- Support and Promote Project and Operations Collaboration
- Ensure cooperation with all areas within the engineering and request the required frame conditions
Key Responsibilities
- Support Technical Area (TA) core competencies growth as required by Technical Manager
- Support and contribute to knowledge base of internal and external best practices
- Lead studies in performance requirements and validation requirements and contribute to the validation knowledgebase
- Lead creation and execution of design verification plan and report for complete vehicle
- Lead read across of complete vehicle and subsystem/component DVP&R
- Support program strategy definition with input of testing requirements and timing
- Support Vehicle Performance Manager (VPM) to track target compliance, from component to subsystem to system level
- Propose and lead test and validation topics supporting the Technical Area and projects were assigned
- Propose continuous improvement opportunities to level up team skills, qualifications, tools, and processes
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Ten plus years in complete vehicle development and validation
- Experience in Complete Vehicle development and manufacture
- Experience supervising or managing technical personnel preferred
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with global teams
- Experience with at least one project from feasibility to SOP preferred
- Experience in testing components and assemblies
- Experience with Non-live high voltage systems preferred
- Experience with vehicle performance attributes
Additional Information
- Lead or support validation proposals identifying component, system, and vehicle level testing required per development phase
- Lead or support the development of the complete vehicle and subsystem level DVP&R including defining the test quantity, product level for each subsystem per project phase and whether tests are virtual or empirical
- Lead or support the roll down of performance and certification targets to the tiered suppliers
- Support complex problem solving with cross functional teams
- Support hardware manager to fulfill DVP&R requirements
- Lead benchmark activities with test planning and test tracking
- Support attribute teams on creation/update of new/modified test standards and to contribute to Magna Steyr database growth
- Support PTFA (Prototype Functional Assessment) to ensure test properties are build fit to purpose
- Lead knowledge base growth and catalog of test facilities in North America for complete vehicle, subsystem and component testing
