Senior Engineer Component Engineering

Participates with other cross functional leads to establish strategic plans and objectives. MRD reviews and specs finalization.

Typically directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several department leads within the company. Has overall control of planning, implementing changes to methods, defining the process.

Desired Candidate Profile

Candidate for the Sr. Engineer role should have 6+ years of experience in product/component selection/ development.

Should have proven track record in developing IOT products for the enterprise markets. Candidate should have strong technical background, risk assessment and decision making skills, and demonstrated experience in developing complex products.

– Aids HW engineering with the selection of electrical and electromechanical components

– Provides electrical feature comparison at the datasheet level.

– Identifies suitable components that meet environmental requirements like RoHS

– Identifies potential 2nd source components and leads review with Eng team

– Identifies component implementation complexity – from paper qualification to more

complex implementations paths.

– Provides inputs for part creation into management database system and schematic

symbol generation.

• Verifies component, schematic and PCB decal implementation

• Hands on with Agile Product lifecycle management tool

• PCN handling, internal communications and work experience with SSMs sourcing team and CM contract manufacturer

• Experience in testing vendors for material science, product BOM level material documentation.

• Experience in BOM handling and ECO creations/BOM upload in Agile PLM and monitoring the approval process. Setting up required approval flow and implementation.

Company overview: Semtech India is engaged in the design and development of enterprise routers and module products. HW system eng team in Pune is responsible for the design from specs to production of the product.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Should have a minimum of Bachelors/Masters Degree in Engineering. E&C, Electronics Branch
