Responsibilities Include
- Participate in the development of the dynamic enterprise integrations
- Design and build fault-tolerant, high-performance, scalable chatbots and omnichannel conversational interfaces
- Design and maintain the core software components that support our platform
- Improve the scalability, resilience, observability, and efficiency of our core systems
- Code primarily in Java, Python, No-SQL
- Analyze bottlenecks and single points of failure of the whole system and improve performance
- Develops deep understanding of tie-ins with other Amex systems and platforms within the supported domains
- Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems
- Enjoy finding and developing simple sustainable solutions to complex problems!
- Speed and quality - must be focused on performance without sacrificing quality!
- Work closely with product managers, platform and application engineers to implement versatile solutions

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering, or related field required; advanced degree is preferred.
- 6+ years of commercial software development experience
- Proficiency with distributed/multi-tier systems and application development, including excellent programming skills in languages such as Java, Python
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Micro-services, Kafka, Relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience in conversational interfaces, chatbots, machine learning, deep learning and data analytics
- Experience with Agile development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery, including working knowledge of various tools in the CI/CD pipeline
- Experience with automated release management using Maven, Salt, Git, Jenkins
- Good understanding of web technologies (HTTP, Apache) and familiarity with Unix/Linux
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms and design patterns
- Great written communication and documentation abilities
- Looks proactively beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels across functions, from both technical and non-technical perspectives alike.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
