The Senior Product Engineer works primarily in Mechanical engineering in product development, design, sustaining, and R&D. Responsible for projects of moderate complexity. Has a moderate impact on product cost, performance, and manufacturing methods/standardization. Assignments are outlined in terms of specific objectives. May be the lead engineer on smaller projects with some functional supervision.

As a Senior Product Engineer FPS - you will be responsible for:

  • Leading projects working with diverse teams including creating technical requirement documents, manage engineering deliverables, develop and communicate risks, etc.
  • Providing leadership for the assigned New Product Development programs. Systems thinking mindset, ability to interface to multiple stakeholders and challenge the status quo, affinity for seeing the big picture, etc.
  • Reporting progress and results out to leadership.
  • Creating initial feasibility analysis, conceptual designs, concepts of operations, conducting trade-off analysis for scaling up to demo/commercial scale systems.
  • Designing and developing engineering designs for flexible pipe systems and couplings following the new product development process.
  • Handling technical projects as assigned and providing work direction for less experienced engineers and technicians.
  • Leading and participating in failure investigations to solve problems and make sound design recommendations.
  • Preparing sample documentation for testing and assessing results for applicability, validity, and conformance to specifications.
  • Interfacing with support organizations and vendors.
  • Preparing presentations for, and interacting with, Sr. Management
  • Reviewing and submitting patents

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 10+ years of experience, or master's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience, or Ph.D. in Engineering with 3+yrs experience
  • 10 years of experience in Program / Project / Product Management skills and planning capability
  • The ability to build peer relationships as well as work independently
  • Good problem-solving skills with a drive for results
  • Experience being action-oriented, ethical in value, and have a solid customer focus
  • Basic project management skills
  • Good written and verbal skills

  • Prior experience with API standards (API 15S)
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation and communication when dealing with executive-level leadership
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams
