Senior Engineer, Industrial - West Jefferson, OH

JOB DUTIES:

Design, plan, and implement automation solutions. Source and select conveyors, sorters, and scanners. Conduct root cause analysis of inefficiencies. Analyze operational data, pareto, time studies, simulations, and discussions with leadership. Develop automation design and equipment specifications. Identify facility design requirements based on activity levels, product envelope, flow, and transportation methods. Create layouts requirements. Specify material handling and storage equipment solutions. Determine personnel requirements for automation. Based on activity levels and product profile, identify management, supervisory needs, and special skills required. Configure system settings. Configure table data, location logic, strategies, commodity data, and system flags for functionality. Collaborate with IT team. Specify packing methods and materials. Based on transportation mode/method and product profile, specify containers, packing medium, labeling/documentation requirements, and provide cost estimates. Develop time studies. Estimate process documentation time, conversion of existing processes, development, testing, and implementation of new processes. Publish start-up plans with milestones and responsibilities. Eligible for telecommuting from home within reasonable commuting distance from Jefferson, OH. Will require physical presence at worksite in Jefferson, OH at least several days a week.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering and two (2) years of experience as a Manufacturing Reliability Intern, Associate Packaging Engineer, Senior Industrial Engineer, Associate Project Manager or related occupation.

Experience must include two (2) years of post-bachelor's progressive experience in all of the following:

• Engineering experience
• Six Sigma practices and principles
• Diverters or spirals or conveyors
• High-volume operations in a distribution/manufacturing-related environment
• Lean methodology and AutoCAD and Simulation or 3D modeling, and drawings
• Microsoft Office (Word and Excel and PowerPoint or Project) and Mini Tab and Six Sigma analysis tools
