Our Engineers not only understand how technology works, but how that technology helps the people who count on it: our customers and colleagues. We are developing an enterprise-scale GraphQL service to power our customer experiences. Whether the customer is online using our JD Power award-winning web and mobile applications, on the phone with our legendary Customer Care Professionals, or chatting with us through Alexa, our GraphQL service will provide the data and functionality needed at the point of customer contact. Fast, secure, real-time, and seamlessly coordinated.
In this role, you will:
  • Ship code, hands-on engineers. You will work on exciting, sophisticated problems related to building an enterprise-scale GraphQL service that underpins the experience of millions of customers globally

Technical Skills
Required:
  • 6+ years of building highly scalable, resilient, and secure APIs and microservices
  • Hands on GraphQL experience designing GraphQL schemas and resolver functions that scale well. Optimizing GraphQL execution, for example through batching, caching, and look ahead.
  • Domain modelling: ability to analyze complex business scenarios and to distil business rules into domain models (for example, UML class diagrams, ER diagrams)
  • Languages: at least two of the following: Javascript, Java, Kotlin, or Python
  • Coding: recent, expert, hands-on experience building applications and services with a JVM-based language (Java, Kotlin) or Javascript
  • Testing frameworks: experience using testing frameworks
  • Code versioning: experience with using code versioning systems, preferably git.
  • Agile methodologies: experience working within Scrum, Kanban, or XP variant.
Desirable:
  • Additional languages, to demonstrate your deep understanding of programming paradigms
  • Docker/Kubernetes - experience building and deploying cloud native applications
  • Databases - experience of NoSQL or SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, or caches such as Redis, Memcached
  • CI/CD - experience in building pipelines for continue integration and delivery: Git, Jenkins, etc.
  • Spring - experience with the Spring framework, specifically Spring Boot
  • Reactive - Experience with Spring Webflux /vert.x or similar RX architectures

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines is preferred, but not crucial. Demonstrable mastery of modern technology architecture, infrastructure, and software practices is crucial.
  • 6+ years software development experience

Salary Range: $120,000.00 to $170,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
