Senior Engineer, Network and Security Engineering

Your role in helping us shape the future:
You will play a vital role in a team of Network and Security Engineering professionals to design, manage, and deploy Intelsat global enterprise network/security infrastructure and associated technologies which support 1,800+ users. You will provide network designs with appropriate redundancy, availability, scalability, security, and manageability requirements needed for the continuing success of Intelsat's critical Enterprise network infrastructure. You will provide architecture and design of network/system access management, support and analysis tools including incident analysis and response, log analysis, threat, and vulnerability management.
Are you up to the challenge?

• Provide network design, configuration, and testing to facilitate the deployment of new enterprise sites/devices or the optimization of network infrastructure.
• Provide input to the IT Engineering roadmap pertaining to Network and Information Security that clearly identifies gaps and mitigation techniques to close the gaps.
• Provide escalation technical support on Intelsat enterprise network issues (the network is made up of the Corporate, Remotes Sales offices (RSC), Satellite Operations Centers and other Operations centers' infrastructure and applications).
• Troubleshoot ongoing network issues until resolution and maintain/develop procedures for optimizing support of internal engineering needs and projects.
• Participate in regularly scheduled week-long on-call engineer rotation to provide emergency Enterprise maintenance/trouble support.
• Execute and document planned and emergency maintenance evolutions, which will involve the use of Network Change Requests (NCR's) with detailed procedures for conducting the maintenance and handling failure scenarios.
• Perform physical support activities (e.g., cable tracing/running and racking, stacking, replacing and installing hardware) as requested.

You should definitely have:

• Four-year college degree or equivalent
• At least 3-years of hands-on experience with Cisco routers/switches
• At least 1-year of experience with firewalls
• Cisco CCNA or CCDA certification (active)
• OSPF routing implementation and troubleshooting experience

This role is subject to ITAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).
It would be nice if you had:

• Four-year college degree in Engineering or Computer Science
• Certifications from Palo Alto Networks and/or Juniper Networks
