This position is eligible for partial telework at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
This position may be located in Ankeny, IA or Ottumwa, IA per the hiring manager's discretion. This may be dependent on the successful candidate's background, experience, and proficiency.
Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Product Engineer for John Deere in Ankeny, IA or Ottumwa, IA you will,

• Plans updates to the electrical architecture for the Self Propelled Windrower
• Defines the control system strategy for all subsystems on the Self Propelled Windrower
• Leads the development of software requirements
• Leads definition of functional safety requirements for the Self Propelled Windrower

What Skills You Need

• Knowledge of electrical systems common on a self propelled vehicle
• Experience defining the electrical architecture for a self propelled vehicle
• Experience drafting software requirements for systems of high complexity
• Experience working with CAN
• Knowledge of fundamentals associated with functional safety

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience defining the control requirements for Hydrostatically Driven Vehicle
• Experience tuning control systems on harvesting equipment
• Experience with a vehicle with differential steering

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering -or- another Engineering Discipline with relevant work experience in electronics and control systems.
