As a Senior Product Lifecycle Engineer, you will be a key part of ResMed's Motorized Blower team. We conceptualize, develop, improve, and maintain industry leading devices which lie at the heart of ResMed's product portfolio, enabling people around the world to breathe easier. Within the PLE function at ResMed, you will be responsible for devices post product launch assessing and implementing design changes, reviewing product and patient risk, and solving challenging problems related to the design and manufacture of ResMed products. The ability to apply, explain, and defend strong engineering judgement and rigor in an ever-changing environment will enable you to excel in this role.

Let's talk about the role

  • Leads the work of project teams and formally mentors or trains junior staff.
  • Supports the design change process on released motorized blower systems and performs risk assessments with respect to potential impacts to product fit, form, or function.
  • Collaborates with Systems, Quality, and other cross-functional engineering groups as required to quantify risk impacts from the motorized blowers to the downstream flow generator level.
  • Defines and executes engineering tests for motorized blowers and associated components, performs analyses, and reports the results.
  • Executes the generation of mechanical design, tolerance analysis, layouts, and engineering drawings.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of processes used in manufacturing the product.
  • Write technical proposals to communicate proposed product design and specification changes.
  • Executes the authorship and execution of protocols and perform testing, verification, and validation of designed products to ensure they meet the necessary requirements and specifications.

Let's talk about you

  • Minimum bachelor's degree with 7+ years' experience in Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • Proven expertise in root cause analysis and structured problem solving, using recognized methods and techniques.
  • Experience with controlled documents, change note processes, engineering drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Ability to apply statistical analysis techniques (Minitab or JMP experience preferred)
  • Experience with risk management and FMEA
  • Ability to use Creo / Pro-E CAD software and PDM / Intralink
  • Familiarity with plastic part design and design for plastic injection molding

Preferred

  • Excellent understanding of motor and/or rotary components
  • Good understanding of sound (noise) and vibration theory, testing, equipment, and data analysis
  • Experience in a high-volume Manufacturing environment in a highly regulated industry - preferably medical devices
  • Training and experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and APQP tools and methodologies
  • Ability to use FEA software such as ANSYS
  • Good understanding of manufacturing operations and/or the product development lifecycle and the broader ResMed business

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate's geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

This role is eligible to receive an annual cash bonus payment based on company, business unit, and/or individual performance.

Base Pay Range for this position:

$134,000 - $168,000
