Your Role:

Design, analyze, develop, and release Chassis suspension components (e.g. passive/ active dampers, coil springs, stabilizer bars, suspension Sensors, Active Suspension Damper Control Unit- ASDM) to achieve vehicle program targets. Create and maintain technical specifications, Design validation plan (DVP), Design failure mode and effect Analysis (DFMEA), Computer Aid Engineering (CAE) reports. Ensure component and system meet the design performance and certification requirements for FMVSS, ECE, CCC. Manage suppliers to meet all program milestone’s deliverables and to achieve Faraday engineering and quality standards. Liaise with attribute & stakeholder teams such as vehicle dynamics, NVH, Powertrain, and Safety to achieve target multidisciplinary vehicle attributes. Support manufacturing & assembly development of suspension systems and components.

Telecommuting is allowed.

Travel requirements: 10% travel required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field and 3 years of work experience in the job offered or closely related occupation.
  • Must possess expertise/ knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered.
  • Expertise/ knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/ knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time."
  • Required expertise/ knowledge includes:
    • Chassis architecture strategies
    • kinematic analysis
    • structural finite analysis.
  • CATIA V5+, GD&T, and component and system DFMEA & DVP&R.
  • Chassis suspension components manufacturing processes, material selections.
  • Simulation software including, ANSYS, Nastran, HyperWorks/ Optistruct. Dynamic road loads analysis or Chassis kinematics analysis (e.g. ADAMS, Motionsolve)

Annual Salary Range:

($108,534 - $145K), plus benefits and incentive plans
