We’re looking for an experienced UX Researcher with a focus on qualitative and mixed methods to join our User Experience team. This role is an addition to the User Experience Organization, which sits at the core of the Company’s growth strategy.

This team is seeking someone with unique skills and qualities, to add to the diversity of our group, but we want someone who shares a knack for analyzing and understanding user needs and expectations, in order to effectively advocate for them. Success in this role requires someone who sees opportunity in undefined, sometimes nebulous spaces and can then scope and execute on business needs.

We want someone who takes initiative, as well as feedback. In addition to working under the guidance of the UX Senior Management team, you’ll be working side-by-side with UX Design and Research peers to sometimes drive, and sometimes support the research activities they perform. We’re a fluid, collaborative product team: you’ll also be working closely with Engineers, Product Content creators, Program Managers, and Product Owners. Additionally, you’ll be establishing relationships with the users of our platform: both internal users, and external customers. 

We are global team headquartered in Conshohocken PA, USA, and have teammates across the US, UK, and Europe. This is a hybrid role in the Bangalore, India office, with flexibility to work most of the week in UK core hours. 

What you’ll do:

• Advocate for UX Research best practices and processes to support our team’s success

• Exhibit broad knowledge of quantitative research methods AND qualitative research methods and how / when to mix and apply them
• Learn complex technological concepts, and then communicating them in plain language
• Identifying opportunities for improvement, and validating their impact through discovery and research methods
• Create and run research activities, such as usability studies and interviews
• Analyze and synthesize the outcomes of research activities and making recommendations based on your findings
• Present findings to internal stakeholders, such as Product Managers and the Executive Leadership
• Contribute to the development of user personas and use cases
• Collaborate and communicate across teams and roles

• Demonstrate aptitude, if not experience, to think both conceptually and pragmatically about product strategy to ensure that Boomi remains an industry leader
• Flex core working hours to UK time zones to accommodate team and project meetings 

The experience you bring:

• 6–8 years of UX Research experience with a growth mindset, insatiable curiosity, empathy, and a clearly-articulated research philosophy
• Mastery of UX research methods and when to use them
• Experience instituting quantitative research methods across a mostly qualitative team
• Ability to operate nimbly as a research consultant to multiple product teams, and comfortable conducting research activities outside of a lab across a broad set of qualitative and quantitative research methods
• A commitment to excellence over perfection — details matter, but so does being nimble
• Experience facilitating workshops and remote activities, and a willingness to recruit internal participants
• The desire to collaborate, with the ability to operate with minimal oversight
• The ability to provide and accept constructive criticism in a timely and direct manner
• Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 guidelines, and a value for designing inclusively
• Familiarity with collaborative and rapid research tools (e.g., Miro, Optimal Workshop)
