Senior Engineer Workplace Technology

This role is part of the GBS Workplace Technology (WPT) engineering team providing IT services to a global userbase of 25.000 colleagues. The WPT engineering consists of architects and engineers that design, implement and support enhancements to existing services and new services. In this role you will be expected to work within a Matrix based organization and have strong collaboration and communication skills.

You will have the opportunity to support key strategic initiatives to bring innovation and improvements of workplace services, innovate our security compliance and standards and participate in our workplace developments. Within this context, you will take accountability for the end to end delivery of solutions against a predefined scope of work.

Work activities as part of this role will consist of the development and enhancements for virtual desktops and physical endpoints. The virtual desktops are part of the Remote Workplace service supports 7.000 users worldwide for their day to day work and is considered a strategic technology. The primary workplace technologies for this role are focused on Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop and Window 365, Amazon Workspaces and Microsoft Intune.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the development of technical designs, policies, and standards for GBS Workplace Technology services

• Implementation of virtual desktop technologies, supporting technologies and onboarding of business applications
• Provides specialist guidance and support for other GBS IT teams to ensure the service is healthy, available and utilized efficiently

• Facilitates open communication and discussion between direct colleagues and other teams to support engineering activities and operational support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g. Information Systems Management) or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of overall experience with Information Technology in a matrixed environment
• 3+ years of work experience in a similar role
• Technology skills at a global enterprise scale:
  • Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Microsoft Windows 365
  • Azure cloud infrastructure (networking, authentication, security boundaries, etc)
  • Microsoft Intune
  • Amazon Workspaces
  • Amazon AppStream
  • Automation (f.e. provisioning, configuration changes, self-service tools, etc.) based on PowerShell
  • End user computing

Preferred

• Certifications, either in possession of or demonstrative of skill level pre:
  • AZ-140: Configuring and operating Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop
  • MD-102: Endpoint Administrator
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
